I have 46 weeks until my Halv Ironman in Jönköping, Sweden.
I need to have my plan to get my training done properly, or I will train way to much / to hard and then my body will burn in hell 🙂

I will do most my running in zone 1 and 2 for 20 weeks because of an injurie in my foot.

Is there something wrong going something like this?
14 weeks General Phase Level 3 Sprint Distance
14 Weeks General Phase Level 3 Olympic Distance
Full 19 Weeks Level 2 Half Ironman Distance

Am I missing out on something? Is there a “better” way? 😊

    Anders,

This is a well thought out plan. What I like about it is that you have broken up the 46 weeks into 3 separate periods or “seasons”. Too many athletes try and create a plan that is 30+ weeks long for a single event.

There is not necessarily a “better” way, there are just many ways to put together your 46 weeks. Your proposal is fantastic.

I would recommend at least a week off in between the periods to avoid 46-straight weeks of training. Two weeks would be better. With that buffer between plans, it gives you the option to use the Maintenance plan (which is free!) instead of the Sprint plan for your first 12 weeks. Something like:

12 weeks General Phase Maintenance plan
    2 weeks off
12 Weeks General Phase Level 3 Olympic Distance
    2 weeks off
Full 19 Weeks Level 2 Half Ironman Distance

Thank you very much for your input David!!
I think i will do The sprint instead of Maintenance but will take 1-2 weeks of between plans like you said!
    Again, thanks!
