I am looking to start HIM level 0 shortly, via the book plan rather than online. Race is 12 July. I have a holiday booked for 30 may which is week 13. Realistically that will need to be a light week training-wise. I’ll get some in but it might be sporadic/short. How would you recommend to adapt please? I could start a week earlier but not sure if that would help? Thanks
Try to include some faster running in every run you are able to do during that travel week. Even if you only have 20 minutes to run on a given day, squeeze in some surges in zone 4 or 5 or cap it off with a fast finish in Zone 3. If you’re consistent in your training in weeks 1-12, a lighter Week 13 won’t have a big impact on your race.
