    Is there a way to set the start of the week in TrainingPeaks so that the week starts at the first day of my training plan?

    Here is the problem: I started my training on a Friday and so all weekly values from the 80/20 program are calculated Fri-Thu. Values on the TrainingPeaks website are all calculated Mon-Sun and it becomes rather “complicated” to keep track of my progress.

    A simple solution would be if I could select my week in Training Peaks to start on Friday. Does anyone know if this is possible? I could not find that option in the calendar setting.

    @Matt & Dave – maybe something to bring to the attention of the TP guys. Seems to be a simple solution and I imagine I am not the only one who ran into this issue.

    I’m not aware of this option in TP, but I can add it to our list of requested features. In your dashboard, you can modify almost any report with custom days, and there is even a Last 7 Days option for almost every report.

    I think the issue you are referring to is the weekly Summary in your calendar which defaults to Sun-Sat. After the first week, these values will sort themselves out anyway. For example, I just loaded the 70.3 Level 1 plan on my calendar with a Monday start date, the first 8 weeks in the TP Calendar Summary are 7 hours, 7.5, 5.5, 7, 7.5, 6, 8 and 8.5. If I load the plan to start on a Friday, the hours are (2), 6.75, 6, 5.75, 7, 7, 6.75, 8, and 8.

    It’s not that far off, and the rest weeks still occur every 3rd week.

    Where are you seeing the biggest issue with not being able to specify Fri-Thurs?

    Thank you for your prompt response.

    Unless there is a workaround (and there might be one) to address the issue at hand being able to pick customized start-end dates for the weekly view might be great.

    Let me describe the issue I am trying to solve:

    I started my training on a Friday so two days ago I started week 9 of the IM Level 2 plan. In addition to the online TrainingPeak interface I also have been consulting the summary tables in your book. This has been very useful in the past since I can get a rough idea about what is ahead. Fro example on page 201 I can see what the swim distance is for week 8 and 9 (5000 & 7500 yards). On TP last week as 6500 yards and next week will be 7500 yards. I guess I could use the online calendar and not worry about the different start days – but I really like the hard-copy provided in the book, since this enables me to plan several weeks ahead. Hence I was thinking of simply move my program (move my Friday program to the next Monday). This would result in a program that aligns again with the weekly schedule in the book. Does this make sense?

    I wonder also if I do this (add a couple of extra days and move Friday to the next Monday) – how would this affect the end of my program? Would I move everything closer to my race day (leaving less time for tapering). Sorry if this is confusing. I am happy to explain more if needed.

    I gotcha now (I think). You just happened to start your training on a Friday, you do not have a requirement for Day 1 of each week to be a Friday.

    If so, I’d reload the plan to start on a Monday, aligning it to the closest week you are on. For example, if you are in Week 4, load the plan to start on a Monday 4 weeks ago and resync your plan with the book.

    Your feature request is still note for TP.

    Yes – please go ahead and make the required updated.
    I believe my current plan was starting week 9 last Friday (July 9th)
    The race I am training for is a IM on Oct 24th (in case this is relevant for making the adjustment).
