Hi – I’m finishing the Level 2 half marathon plan (from the book), this week and have had a great experience with the plan and improvement so far. I am looking to start the training peaks 10k level 2 plan soon after and was wondering if I should do some base training in between for a few weeks or simply jump into the new plan. Background wise, I modified the HM plan slightly to do 6 days running peaking at 6 hours for a few weeks. The 10k plan is a slight increase in hours (peaking at 7.25 hours). Is it best to jump into the new plan, or should I spend a month on mainly easy running increasing to 6.5 or 7 hours? I.e. increase mileage without the intensity, then back off and start plan.
