ParticipantHello everyone, I am a new subscriber who has been following the level 1 half marathon HR plan and was wondering how to add the strength plan to help improve my run efficiency.
Any advice on how I could incorporate this into my plan would be appreciated

KeymasterHoward,
We have you covered. See https://www.8020endurance.com/free-vs-premium-strength/ for our free Strength plans that add right onto your 80/20 Level 1 HM plan.

ParticipantThank you David, that is exactly what I’m looking for.
How do I add this to my current plan so it will automatically prompt me what is required for each session and suggest the best days to perform these?
Training peaks is fairly new to me, I’m still working things out and I appreciate the support.

KeymasterHoward,
You’ll apply the strength plan to your calendar using the exact same strart or end date you specified for your HM plan. See https://help.trainingpeaks.com/hc/en-us/articles/204071974-How-do-I-apply-unapply-my-plan-
The Strength plans are not structured plans, meaning, they do not export to your device and walk you through the workout. But, they will appear as workouts with details in TP, and bringing your smartphone with you to the gym with the TP app is the easiest way to execute the strength session.

This is just what I was looking for. I can live without the session being on my Garmin as I take my phone everywhere.
Thank you for the help, much appreciated

ParticipantI can attest they are a good workout. The premium version will make you work. Very informative and very well executed.

ParticipantDavid,
I’ve had a go trying to add the strength plan following the guide but it doesn’t show up in training peaks when I follow the instructions. The half marathon doesn’t show up either although it is clearly all planned in.
Any suggestions?

KeymasterHoward,
Launch TP on a desktop. Open Training Plans tab on the left, left click on your main HM plan on the left. That will pop up a window that gives the plan details. On the bottom of that popup it will say “On calendar from xx/xx/xx to xx/xx/xx.” Do the same for the Strength plan. Both need to have the same and correct “On calendar from…” date. See attached example of a tri plan, but the HM plan will look the same.
The nuclear option is to remove any plans you have applies per https://help.trainingpeaks.com/hc/en-us/articles/204071974-How-do-I-apply-unapply-my-plan- and delete anything you see in the calendar from today forward, then reapply both plans again.
If that does not work, send me a screen shot of what you see for that same screen in TP for both plans. david@8020endurance.com
