I’m in the middle of a 5K plan and have been having issues with cross training options. Cross training is going to be a key part of my fitness strategy to help combat issues I’ve had with plantar fasciitis in the past.
At some point, I’m planning on buying an indoor bike so that would be my preferred cross training option.
Without investing in new equipment, what other cross training options do I have? I’m also doing the strength program as well.
If you have access to water, you could swim or do water running. I can’t think of any other form of cardio cross-training other than walking that doesn’t require some kind of equipment. Elliptical running, rowing, cycling, cross-country skiing, and slideboarding are all good options but all require equipment of some kind. I suppose you could do uptempo calisthenics or aerobics…
