    Hello!

    I’m racing a half marathon next Sunday, having used the new level 2 plan. That race is 18 weeks away from the marathon that I’m targeting as my A race this year.

    My question is should I launch straight into the level 2 marathon plan or tweak it somehow to give myself some recovery time?

    Dean, I recommend you take 4-7 days off from running after the HM. Continue to exercise. Cycling, rowing, swimming… but there is no harm, and likely a significant benefit, to taking some time off after a HM.

    And then start the marathon plan in week 2?

    Yes, exactly. That week off won’t drop your fitness enough to make Week 2 a problem, and should in fact improve your form so that you are even more prepared with that week off.
