Hello. I am planning to start the 160km plus gran fondo bike plan level 2. My event is single day 160km on a hilly course. I was planning to substitute the 3 weekly foundation rides on wed/thur/sat to Zone2 runs of same duration plus strides on one or two of the days. I have been mixing cycling and running for the past three years consistently. Thank you for the great resourses and plans. I have followed the olympic triathlon and 10k run plans from the books to really great results!
    Thank you and Best Regards,
    Ankur.

    Hi Ankur,

Thanks for the feedback. Was there a question you wanted to ask?

Hi! Yes, wanted to now if substituting all three weekly easy rides for easy runs would reduce too much the bike volume and really negatively affect the overall training for the bike?
    Thanks,
    Ankur.

I don’t think it will. Your running fitness will cross over to the bike to some extent, and you’ll still be doing about as much cycling as a triathlete would in training for a race with a bike leg of similar distance.
