How to fill 10 weeks between 140.6 and 70.3

    I have my 140.6 A race in the middle of May. Ten weeks later there is a local 70.3 race I would like to do too. It would be a just for fun race, but I would still like to put in a good performance because it is our national middle distance championship race.

    How should I train during the ten week gap?

    I saw another thread with Matt suggesting something like this:

    Week 1: Rest
    Week 2: Light training
    Week 3: Base training
    Week 4: Mixed Training
    Week 5: Specific Training
    Week 6: Specific Training
    Week 7: Taper

    Should I add in another couple of Specific training weeks from a 70.3 plan and then a Taper and a Race Week?

    I’d go with something like this:

    Week 1: Rest
    Week 2: Base
    Week 3: Base
    Week 4: Mixed
    Week 5: Mixed
    Week 6: Specific
    Week 7 Specific
    Week 8: Specific
    Week 9: Taper
    Week 10 Taper
