I have my first ironman (A race) 16 weeks after my 70.3 (A race). What do you recommend for the ironman plan since it is 23 weeks long? Would it be ok to start at week 7 to make everything line up? The dates are 70.3 on 6/26 and ironman on 10/23/2022
Not quite. If you get right back on the horse of heavy training too soon after your race you’ll overreach. It’s better to train minimally in the first week after your 70.3, then do a week of base training (Week 1 of the IM plan), and then pick up the IM plan at Week 9. You’ll still have plenty of fitness from your IM70.3, but that way you’ll also be fresh and ready to get after it again. Good luck!
