    Good morning.
I have been doing well in training and am excited to race. This last week I have been reading and hearing all kinds of advice on how to handle the hills at LP. I enjoy hills and am a strong climber. My plan (Level 2) is to stay around the top end of zone 2 on the bike. Depending on the hill it sometimes feels more comfortable to creep higher in watts on ascent, in contrast on downhills it can be difficult to reach my goal.

Any advice on handling hills and pacing.

    J,

I just replied a few minutes ago to a similar post. See https://www.8020endurance.com/topic/coming-out-of-the-saddle/

Stick with your pacing targets, but 10% higher than target is acceptable when ascending and don’t worry about hitting the target on the descent.
