Pre-activity comments state “You’ll get the most benefit if you aim for a pace you could sustain for 15 minutes in race conditions, which will put you close to the middle of the zone.”
Within the workout details, for the first set of 10 reps we have “Complete these efforts at a pace you could sustain for 15 minutes in race conditions.“, but for the second and third set of ten reps we have “Complete these efforts at Maximal Aerobic Speed, which is the fastest pace you could sustain for 6 minutes and falls toward the high end of Zone 4.”
The workout power ranges are broad, targeting the whole of Zone Y – Zone 4, should all three be done towards the middle of Zone 4 per the pre-activity comment, or should the workout descriptions be followed?
This is an error in the plans, the 6-minute reference is the incorrect reference. We’ve made this fix in all plans, but if you loaded your plan onto the calendar before we made the fix you’ll see the old version. Use the 15-minute reference.
Uhhhh, that’s a really good idea. No, we have not kept a log of fixes. Frankly, these errors are really rare. We have 425 plans with ~200 workouts each (85,000 workouts) and I’ve only had 4 errors reported this calendar year (those 4 errors could represent 200 workouts affected). I know more are out there, they always pop up just when I think we can’t possibly have any more. It’s the LIR series that has bit us hard and where you’ll see the most issues. Matt’s fault! If you see more than one more error I’ll be really surprised.
