I am just about to complete the 80/20 Run Maintenance plan. I have really enjoyed this plan and am now looking to begin training for a half marathon. I am wondering what half marathon plan would make for the smoothest transition from the maintenance plan? I am training for my first half marathon but have been an avid and competitive runner (5km and 10km) for over 10 years. I am looking for a plan in which my fitness will not decrease from where it is right now. I am worried that starting a new plan may require me to decrease volume/intensity and may lead to decreased fitness for a period of time.
Thanks for using our plans! The best transition from the Maintenance plan is the Level 1 plan for sure. But, remember, you can always switch levels for free if the Level 1 is too easy or too hard, or if you grow out of the Level 1 later.
