My next A race is the Santa Cruz marathon on August 29, 20 weeks out. On September 25, 2021 I have my A- Sprint Triathlon. I have only ran 2 halves, 1 3 weeks ago and the other today. I did quite well in both (1:59 and 1:52). I’m 64 years old and think I am on-track to qualify for Boston in August.
The training for my halves was essentially your Level 1 Sprint Tri plan. The long runs and run intervals really brought my running back from the doldrums and there was plenty of time for cycling (and maybe too much time on swimming). Now I would like to turn-the-tables and have a run (marathon) plan that will be decent for a follow-up sprint tri. Swimming need not only be a minor consideration because I am a decent swimmer and gaining 20 second on a 400 yd swim isn’t worth pre-empting training days that could be either for running or swimming. Can you suggest a dual solution? I am partial to Level 1 but could do Level 2. TIA, Allan
