So after a 2 year pandemic hiatus from triathlon, I’m ready to jump into 2022 with my 2020 goal of completing an Ironman. After completing my 4th consecutive (years) IM 70.3 w/a PR of 6:22:00, using your Super Simple 70.3 training plan as guidance, I was all in on going for the full meal deal. When it was announced that IM Canada would be moving back to Penticton I quickly signed up, purchased the IM Lvl 2 power/pace (P/P) plan and was ready to go. Well, needless to say after two cancellations and a refund later I’ve yet to complete my IM or your training plan.
As 2022 seems to trending towards normalcy (knock on wood) here is the season I’m planning.
Signed up for IM 70.3 CdA and will purchase the lvl 2 P/P plan.
Looking at IM AZ for my Ironman goal.
With that said, there are 21 weeks between the two races. Now the week after CdA I would like to take a couple of days off and then do some light recovery work before starting training for IM AZ if I should sign up.
My question is, based on my 70.3 fitness where can or should I start the IM training plan? Week 4? Is it possible to start on week 5 or 6?
