I’m going to train for Marathon as Race A using Marathon Level 2 plan.
However, there is HM race I want to participate as Race B (still trying to have PB on it).
The problem is that Half Marathon and Marathon races are 4 weeks, but not 3 weeks apart from each other. So it’s on week 14 and not 15 (which is recovery week) as recommended.
I was thinking how to adjust my plan. Changing periodization looks like complicated for me. And I had another thought, If I start 1 week earlier, extending plan to 19 weeks by adding 1 additional taper week at the end. Then HM will get into week 15 as planned. Will it be correct in this case?
And what shall that additional taper week consist of? Will it be correct to repeat week 17 twice and have week 18 of standard plan as week 19 of modified plan?
Shall I request for existing plan modification service in this case?
It’s goning happen in October 2022 only, but I want to have at least some vision and understanding in advance. Actually to be able to plan June-July 2022
