Using the ironman level 3 training plan and in my current week it has CF10, RCI3 as a brick on Tuesday and then RF7 & CCI16 as a brick on thursday – neither are listed as BRO. Is this correct? or is the intent to do one as a brick?
We address this in our document Understanding Your 80/20 Triathlon Plan but I’ve included the relevant section below for your convenience. Any week-day (M-F) bike and run on the same day is not intended to be a brick unless you see the BRO flag. But, give me the intensity type (HR, Pace and Power, Power and Power…) of your IM Level 3 plan and the week (Week 1, Week 5…) and I’ll take a look just to make we have not missed a BRO in your particular plan.
Some days have two workouts scheduled in the same day. On days with both a bike and run scheduled in the same day, it is not intended to be a brick workout (running immediately after the bike) unless specified otherwise. All days with both a bike and run should be done separately in the AM and then PM, or at least as far apart as possible, and in the order they are listed in your training calendar. If the bike and run must be combined, it is recommended to perform the workout with the most intensity first. Later in your plan, you will see BRO and BR workouts which provide guidance on optional and recommended brick workouts. When the two workouts in a day are a swim and another workout, it is recommended to swim first (so as to not swim while fatigued and compromise form). The swim and second workout do not have to be done AM and PM, and can be done back-to-back.
@david thanks Im using the IM level 3 bike power and run pace Look like it is week 13 i believe. There is one day with a BR brick flag then 2 days later CCI16 has this in the pre activity comments “Make this a brick workout today.” but no separate BR or BRO flag
