Hello, I am sure this has been answered in this forum. I tried to find it, but I cannot figure out the right combination of search phrases to find it.
I am 8 weeks into a 19 week running training plan.
I’m using the 2021 Edition 50 Mile / 100k Level 2 plan.
My Event (previously May 22/23) was canceled.
I am replacing it with an event 1 week earlier.
How should I adjust my training plan?
Best to make the adjustment now. Simplest way to do that is to repeat Week 8 immediately after Week 9 (which is a recovery week). This will make the subsequent step cycle longer, but you shouldn’t find it overwhelming if you’ve been managing the training load well so far.
Thank you for your response, Matt. But, I apologize, I am not sure how to put this into practice.
I am on Week 8.
I will complete week 8, which ends with ER17 (3 hour endurance run)
then I will do week 9, which ends with ER13 (2 hour endurance run)
Then I will repeat week 8… and then what?
Where do I go from there? I am not following as to how this reduces the plan by 1 week.
My apologies. I misread your question. I’m not myself lately. Simplest fix there is skipping Week 8 and jumping to Week 9 EXCEPT for the long run. Do the shorter (ER13) long run at the end of that week.
