    Hi Matt

I’m interested in your thought about the stryde power unit and training through this method.

Also is there an calculation (% factor) that you could apply with pace vs elevation gain?

    Matt Fitzgerald

    Hi Craig,

I’m a big fan of Stryd. I’ve worked with a number of athletes who train with it and I have found it to be a very useful and reliable tool. And if you do use it, you don’t have to worry about graded equivalents of level-ground paces. A watt is a watt is a watt!

Thanks Matt, I assume that you use it the same way as e.g HR in the training plans and set it up in setting profile on training peaks

    Matt Fitzgerald

Thanks again, Matt; how would you recommend setting it up, e.g., using the current pace and heart rate for several weeks to obtain the data, then calculating the power or going and conducting the recommended test?

    Matt Fitzgerald

Either option is fine. The simplest way would be to identify the wattage that corresponds to your LT pace on level terrain.
