What I wonder about is the following: let’s say I invest in a running PM – could I switch from bike power – run pace to a bike power / run power plan?
Would it be possible to do that even if the plan was already started? I would assume that pace/power should line up (after doing a threshold test)?
Winora, yes. However, consider these two other options to dial in your run FTP even sooner:
1. Our new Talk Test can be done during any workout, on any day. See the Intensity Guides document in our Resources area. We’re still fine-tuning the protocol, but it’s an alternative to identify run FTP now.
2. During your next Zone 3 interval session, if you are running at the top of Zone 3 at average 6:30 per mile for the 5-minute interval, and your average run power for that same 5-minute interval is 320 watts, then your run FTP is going to be pretty close to 320 watts.
