I saw Triathlon Taren using a VO2 Master Mask in an FTP test he was doing on his YouTube Channel. Anyone here have any experience with the VO2 Master Mask? Let’s assume for a second the VO2 Master Mask is highly accurate (I don’t know that it is) and that the device can tell you your mL/kg/min at FTP and/or max effort for shorter periods (such as the FTP Ramp Test), is there really any practical point to actually measure your mL/kg/min during an FTP test?
If I had an accurate and reliable portable “metabolic analyzer” I would be more inclined to use it to measure VT1, VT2, and VO2max. I’d be less interested in knowing VO2 at FTP.
